Local school officials have <a href=\"http:\/\/stateimpact.npr.org\/florida\/2012\/01\/24\/digging-deeper-on-floridas-new-district-rankings\/\">criticized the district rankings<\/a> because they are based solely on Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test scores.<\/p>\n<p>The elementary and middle school rankings are based on FCAT scores. The high school rankings use FCAT scores, but also includes graduation rates, accelerated coursework &#8212; such as Advanced Placement &#8212; and college or career readiness.<\/p>\n<p>[spreadsheet key=&#8221;0Av06TaO9jXYrdDlpVmlPSUZ1TEk3OFNJandSZGNOVlE&#8221; source=&#8221;Florida Department of Education&#8221; filter=1 paginate=1 sortable=1]<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/wmelbourne.es.brevard.k12.fl.us\/\">West Melbourne Elementary School for Science<\/a> in Brevard County was the top-ranked elementary school.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/209.155.76.243\/\">Archimedean Middle Conservatory<\/a> in Miami-Dade was the top middle school. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nwfcollegiatehigh.org\/\">Collegiate High School at Northwest Florida State College<\/a> was the top-ranked high school.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>[spreadsheet key=&#8221;0Av06TaO9jXYrdEtsU1Z5T002ZUNuZ29nQkd3NmUwS3c&#8221; source=&#8221;Florida Department of Education&#8221; filter=1 paginate=1 sortable=1]<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/sbl.leeschools.net\/\">The Sanibel School <\/a>in Lee County was the top elementary and middle combination school, while Sarasota County&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sarasota.k12.fl.us\/pvs\/\">Pine View School<\/a> was the top middle and high combination school.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFloridians care about education and it is critical that our students have access to world-class schools that will give them a pathway to a successful career,\u201d Gov.
