Rick Scott hopes teachers remember his efforts to get them more money, now that the Florida Legislature has adjourned.<\/p>\n<p>Scott embarked on a Teacher Pay Raise Pep Rally Tour today as part of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.teacher-appreciation.info\/Teacher-Appreciation-Week-2013\/ \">National Teacher Appreciation Week<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Scott requested $480 million for raises. He got the full amount, but it won&#8217;t be doled out exactly as he wanted.<\/p>\n<p>He was hoping for across-the-board raises of $2,500 for every teacher.<\/p>\n<p>Instead,<a href=\"http:\/\/stateimpact.npr.org\/florida\/2013\/04\/29\/lawmakers-and-gov-scott-compromise-on-teacher-raises\/\"> lawmakers approved raises that will vary<\/a> based on teacher evaluations and effectiveness rankings.<\/p>\n<p>Other school personnel will also be eligible for pay boosts.<\/p>\n<p>Scott said districts will have flexibility in carrying out the raises in coordination with their collective bargaining agreements.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have the opportunity for our teachers to get from a $2,500 to a $3,500 pay raise,\u201d Scott said last week after lawmakers came to agreement on the budget. \u201cSo it\u2019s a great day for teachers. It\u2019s also a great day for students.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Scott is making five stops this week on his \u201cvictory tour.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Monday:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Piper High School, Sunrise<\/li>\n<li>Wynnebrook Elementary School, West Palm Beach<\/li>\n<li>Nease High School, Ponte Vedra<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Tuesday:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ocoee Middle School, Ocoee<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Friday:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Alexander Elementary School, Tampa<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gov.
