About 10,000 educators will meet to talk about trends, swap ideas and check out hundred of companies presenting their newest products.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a chance for Florida school districts to learn more about two big approaching changes: The switch to new, tougher education standards <a href=\"http:\/\/stateimpact.npr.org\/florida\/2013\/01\/24\/five-takeaways-on-floridas-switch-to-new-academic-standards\/\">known as Common Core<\/a> and Florida&#8217;s requirement that schools begin using more <a href=\"http:\/\/stateimpact.npr.org\/florida\/2012\/09\/25\/explaining-floridas-shift-to-digital-textbooks\/\">digital instruction materials<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>StateImpact Florida reporter John O&#8217;Connor spoke with Jennifer Womble, who helps organize the event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s been a transition from technology being a tool on the side of education,\u201d Womble said, \u201cto technology being completely integrated into the education day.\u201d<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With Florida schools looking to add more technology to their lessons, FETC opens in Orlando this week.
