Texas Electricity Use Sets Record For June

The manager of the Texas electricity grid, ERCOT, says demand between 4-5pm surpassed any other day in June in past years.

AUSTIN, TX, June 25, 2012 — The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), the grid operator for most of Texas, saw a new June record for peak electric demand today. Electric use during the 4 -5 p.m. hour averaged out at 65,047 megawatts (MW).
