Wild ponies cross a small creek after being rounded up to be herded to a holding pen before making next weeks annual swim across the Assateague Channel to Chincoteague Island, on July 21, 2012 in Assateague Island, Virginia. Each year the wild ponies are auctioned off by the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company.
