Fracking May Be Helping Obama in the Swing States of Ohio and Pennsylvania

During the 2008 campaign, Obama promised millions of green jobs. So far, the White House says, only about one-quarter of a million have been created. But according to this Bloomberg piece, lots of fracking jobs in Pennsylvania and Ohio have boosted his poll numbers.


Today, the energy industry is one of the main engines of job growth and the U.S. is the closest it has been in almost 20 years to meeting its own needs. Yet the transformation — driven by a surge in oil and natural gas production — isn’t primarily green and has little connection to the president’s plans.
