Drill Bits: An Energy Company Sells Off Assets; Romney Goes After Obama
- Last week, a Common Cause report claimed Shell donated $50,000 to Governor Corbett’s campaign fund in 2011. StateImpact Pennsylvania linked to an AP article about the study in Drill Bits. It turns out that information was wrong: as the AP notes, “the contribution was made to Corbett’s campaign by the wife of an executive who sold a gas drilling company to Shell for $4.7 billion in 2010.” (AP)
- Penn Virginia is selling off what it labels “non-core natural gas assets” for $100 million. The energy company is keeping its Marcellus Shale holdings, though. (Reuters)
- Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney visited a Pittsburgh-area company which produces wires used in gas drilling. The former governor used the appearance to slam President Obama’s economic policies. (Tribune-Review)
