New Damon Film Tackles Fracking

Do you like apples? The director of Good Will Hunting has made a film about natural gas drilling. How do you like them apples?

The movie appears to have an anti-fracking bent – John “Jim from the Office” Krasinski plays a farmer trying to stop Matt Damon and Frances McDormand from leasing a rural town’s land for extraction.

Here’s the trailer for “The Promised Land,” which was filmed in western Pennsylvania, and is scheduled for release in early 2013:

A bunch of this movie was filmed about 5 minutes from my office/hometown, right in the middle of the area we are very active in. When folks found out that this movie had an anti-drilling slant, they were NOT pleased.

Does that mean you are the Matt Damon character?

If they’d cast Seth Rogen, maybe. Matt Damon,… that’s pushing it.
