Public Hearing Scheduled for New Compressor Station in Susquehanna County

The Department of Environmental Protection has scheduled a hearing on a compressor station proposal for Bridgewater and Brooklyn townships. Williams Energy wants to build the compressor, which would dehydrate, condense and pressurize gas from nearby Marcellus wells in order to send it through their growing system of pipelines. According to the DEP’s announcement, the station would include three natural-gas powered engines, a solar powered turbine, and a smokeless flare.

Last March, another Susquehanna County compressor station operated by Williams exploded, blowing a hole through the roof. The incident shook houses half a mile away.
