Drill Bits: More On The House GOP/Corbett Shale Bill

The Corbett Administration authored the bulk of the House Republican Marcellus Shale plan, including a section preempting local drilling regulations…but don’t expect to hear that detail from the governor.

The measure was forwarded in a cramped, out-of-the-way committee room. The Tribune-Review’s Brad Bumsted calls that a “monumental mistake” and “blown opportunity.”
Meantime, several municipalities are moving forward with ballot initiatives for drilling regulations, including Peters Township, Washington County.
