The proposed Vision2 tax extension for improvements to the American Airlines maintenance base at the Tulsa airport is a gamble, City Councilor G.T. Bynum tells the World.

If American – Tulsa’s largest private employer – stays in business and continues servicing a major part of its air fleet at the Tulsa airport industrial complex, the bet pays off in a big way. If, on the other hand, it doesn’t – if the airline fails financially or simply pulls up stakes in Tulsa – it’s “the biggest boondoggle in city history,” Bynum said. Frankly, he said, he hasn’t made up his mind.
