“Oklahoma’s Jobless Rate Rises in August”

Oklahoma’s unemployment rate is creeping back up, though it’s still better than it was a year ago.


Oklahoma’s unemployment rate continued to rise as it reached 5.1 percent in August, according to data released Friday morning by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Last month’s rate was up from 4.9 percent in July and 4.7 percent in June. A year ago at the same time, the state’s rate was at 6.3 percent.
