“Feds Will Let States Pay to Reopen National Parks”

Oklahoma was not one of the four states asking to be able to use state money to reopen federal parks and other sites, like the Chickasaw National Recreation Area in Sulphur, Okla. In a call to StateImpact, Gov. Mary Fallin’s spokesman says Fallin hasn’t made a decision on whether to take the action in Oklahoma.

WASHINGTON (AP) – Under pressure from governors, the Obama administration said Thursday it will allow some shuttered national parks to reopen – as long as states use their own money to pay for park operations.
