Who Pays the Highest Property Taxes for Their Local Schools

If you live in Cuyahoga County and suspect you’re paying higher property taxes for your local schools than any other city does, you’re not alone. The Northeast Ohio Media Group reports eight of the ten highest school property tax rates statewide are in Cuyahoga County. Ringing in at number one: Shake Heights. Rounding out the top ten: Warrensville Heights.


CLEVELAND, Ohio – Eight of the 10 highest-taxing school districts in the state for property taxes are in Cuyahoga County, new data being used for 2014 bills shows. However, just one Cuyahoga County district, Euclid, also collects a local income tax for schools.
