Toledo School Board Will Not Renew Superintendent Jerome Pecko’s Contract
The Toledo school district will not renew Superintendent Jerome Pecko’s contract after it ends this July. The board of trustees has not yet decided on a process or timeline for hiring a new superintendent, but Petro’s departure comes at a critical time for the district, the Toledo Blade reports.

TPS also is bidding to take over a major Head Start grant, is in the midst of a performance audit, and will start negotiations soon with its employee unions. The district will find out in two weeks the result of a statewide investigation into possible school-data manipulation that was prompted in part by revelations of data practices in TPS.
