The Morning After, Columbus School Board Silent on Audit

At a board meeting Tuesday night, Columbus Schools officials had little to say about the auditor’s big reveal, except that schools’ employees should avoid addressing the issue directly with reporters. Perhaps that’s because district officials had been briefed on the report a few weeks ago. And as the Columbus Dispatch reports, board president Gary Baker says the board doesn’t intend to meet publicly to discuss the investigation.


Hours after the state auditor released a report saying that Columbus City Schools had created an atmosphere of intimidation where officials felt pressured to cheat or face career repercussions, the Board of Education held a special meeting – but not to talk about the report.
