Schools Will Compete for $150 Million in State Funds This Spring

More than 670 schools have already notified the Ohio Department of Education that they intend to apply for grants during the second round of Gov. John Kasich’s Straight A Fund, the Columbus Dispatch reports.


Hundreds of Ohio schools will be vying this spring for nearly $150 million in education grants. The second round of Gov. John Kasich’s Straight A Fund competition will encourage school districts to join forces on initiatives to improve student achievement, reduce costs and push a greater portion of education spending into classroom instruction.
