One College Plans to Ditch The Application

Thinking of applying to Maryland’s Goucher College? Get ready to record your two minute elevator pitch. Inside Higher Ed reports the school is foregoing the standard route of awarding admission based on criteria like standardized test scores and transcripts. Instead, the school will now accept a video, along with two pieces of work from high school.


Can an applicant explain why he or she would thrive at a given college in two minutes? If the applicant wants to enroll at Goucher College, that is pretty much all it will take under a new admissions option being announced today.
