Ohio State University officials say donations to the school last fiscal year fell just shy of the record, with a record nuber of people contributing.
More than 233,000 donors contributed 404 million dollars during the last fiscal year.
That’s up eight percent from the previous year, and ranks just behind the record $407 million total from 2011-2012.
That year got a big boost from L Brands CEO Leslie Wexner’s, whose family and foundation contributed nearly a quarter of that year’s take.
The campaign, called “But for Ohio State” has received a total of over $1.9 billion toward its long-term goal of $2.5 billion.
Ohio State University Foundation President Michael C. Eicher attributes the banner year to an increase in alumni engagement. That comes through clubs and societies, more opportunities to volunteer, and expanding the school’s alumni career management services.
