Week Ahead: Auditor’s Report, Ohio Graduation Tests and More

Coming Up This Week

Monday: Fall administration of the Ohio Graduation Tests starts. Testing continues through Sunday, Nov. 4. Students must pass the OGT to graduate from high school. They take the OGT for the first time in the spring of their sophomore year and can continue to take the tests in the fall and spring of their junior and senior years.

Tuesday: Auditor of State Dave Yost is expected to release his next report on the accuracy of Ohio school accountability data. His October report said auditors found problems with student data  in five districts.

Thursday: Voting begins in the National Student Mock Election. Nov. 1 is Mock Election Day.

What We’re Working On

The Ohio State Board of Education is tackling some important issues. We’ve been working on this 2012 State Board of Education Voters Guide, and on some stories outlining what’s at stake in this election.
