Week Ahead: Count Week, Jobs at Ohio Department of Education and More

Coming Up This Week

Monday-Friday: It’s Count Week! Ohio school districts are funded based on attendance as reported to the Ohio Department of Education during the first week of October. As usual, the message from schools is, “We want your kid in school every day, but we really really really want them in school this week.”

Wednesday: Deadline to apply for two top Ohio Department of Education leadership positions: Associate Superintendent for Accountability and Quality Schools and the Executive Director for the Center of Accountability and Continuous Improvement. These are the positions vacated by Bill Zelei and Adrian Allison.

Thursday: KnowledgeWorks is holding an event in Columbus on “how Ohio and its communities can work together to improve student learning.” It’s now waitlist-only, but if you know the answer maybe they’ll let you in.
