Nearly $1 Million Donated to Chardon High School Shooting Fund
Students returned to Chardon High School yesterday, six months after 17-year old T.J. Lane opened fire in the northeast Ohio school’s cafeteria, killing three students and seriously injuring two.
Nearly $1 million has been donated to a fund overseen by the county United Way Services. The money is supposed to be used “to benefit of the families and the victims and to support the healing of the community,” the News Herald reports.
And planning is under way for a “healing garden,” school Principal Andy Fetchik told the News Herald.
“It’s going to be a great year,” he said.
