Idaho’s wheat exports to Mexico exploded during the first quarter of the year, jumping 241 percent compared to the same period last year.
Idaho sold $12 million worth of wheat to Mexico from January to March, up significantly from $3.5 million during the first quarter of 2011.
“Mexico is kind of an exploding market for us,” said Idaho Wheat Commission Chairman Gordon Gallup. “It’s a very good market for us and we’re hoping that continues.”
