Teacher Gives Out ‘Catastrophe Award’ for Homework Excuses

An Arizona teacher gave an 8-year-old student a “Catastrophe Award” for the number of times she came up with an excuse for not having her homework. The girl’s mother doesn’t find the award funny. Was the teacher over the line? Or is a little shame necessary?
