Private Schools Choosing To Opt Out Of State ‘School Choice’ Programs

Just 64 percent of Florida private school participate in the state’s tax credit scholarship program, according to a Stateline analysis. Stateline also found that many of the nation’s best private schools do not participate over worries about additional state regulations or standardized tests.


Students at Cincinnati’s lowest-performing schools can use the state’s EdChoice scholarship, worth up to $5,000, to attend any one of 53 private schools in the city. But those 53 schools represent less than a fifth of all the private schools in Cincinnati, and many of the city’s top academic schools aren’t on the list.
