Poll Shows Public Has Heard Little About Common Core

A majority of the public has not heard or read anything about Common Core standards in the past six months, according to a poll commissioned by a group which helped develop the standards. Teachers are very aware of Common Core — and Florida is conducting summer sessions to inform educators what the new standards will mean.


Nearly nine out of ten public school teachers are now aware of the Common Core State Standards, and most of them have a “very” or “somewhat” favorable impression, according to new polling data.
