Orange County Schools Hire Former Keys Leader

Orange County schools select a familiar name as a top deputy. Jesus Jara is the former superintendent of Monroe County schools in the Florida Keys.

Jesus Jara, who resigned last week as Superintendent of Monroe County School District in the Florida Keys, has been chosen as Orange County Public Schools’ new deputy superintendent. Superintendent Barbara Jenkins chose Jara because his background includes administrative and school level experience, as well as a private-sector stint with the College Board that could help the district with college preparedness, she said.
